Petsies Pip

Petsies custom stuffed animals are almost as much fun as the real thing

Look familiar? Long time friends and followers will recognize Pip, my heart dog and co-founder of the blog.

I was recently contacted by Petsies, a company who makes custom stuffed animals to look like your pet. They kindly offered to make one of Ruby, but I decided to go with Pip instead. I sent them a few pictures and about four weeks later Petsies Pip arrived at my door.

Petsies make a perfect gift to celebrate your furry friend or remember a lost love

Petsies Almost Like The Real Thing

As you can see the resemblance is uncanny! The Petsies team of designers captured every detail just right. His deep brown eyes are buried under fur just like the real Pip's eyes. His markings, the consistency of his fur, and even the shape of his feet are spot on. Petsies Pip is a little bigger than the real Pip - but Pip had a big personality so I'm totally OK with that! Sometimes when I pass a room and see Petsies Pip sitting on a chair, I do a serious double take.

Each Petsies is hand-stitched and crafted by a team of amazing seamstresses and designers, using airbrushing techniques to perfectly capture your pet's likeness and essence. The process takes awhile, but the result is so worth it and the attention to detail is incredible. Ordering is super simple  - just send them a picture and answer a few questions online. Once a week, the Petsies team will send you an email with a status update on your order.

I know it sounds crazy but it is strangely comforting to see Petsies Pip sitting on the couch or on our bed or curled up with Ruby.  If you or someone you know have recently (or not so recently as in our case) lost a much loved friend, I would encourage you to give Petsies a try. They make a perfect gift to celebrate your best friend or remember a lost love.

Ruby says hi, too!

  8. I have to admit I've thought about doing this, particularly since I have goofy looking mutts whose likenesses will not be found in standard stuffed animal shops.

  9. I may do this for when I do readings at kids schools since they never allow me to bring Montecristo. Would allow the kids to "meet him".

  10. I was really excited to hear about this company. My friend and guest post writer, Amy, just lost her beloved beagle. I recommended Petsies to her to aid her through her grief. I don't know who is cuter- Petsie Pip or real Pip!

  16. This is such a goreous tribute - I am sure you are delighted that you have Pip back in a a small quiet way. He looks better than the cuddle clone of Bionic Basil, that looked so wrong even after a 'remake'!!

  18. Petsies Pip is almost as beautiful as the real Pip, but still amazingly handsome. Mom says she would love to have one made too, but then she thought about it and said she would have to get one for each of our four Angels:)

  20. Wow, that is some serious likeness! I think Cookie would be quite upset if I happened to feed the "decoy" by accident :-)

  24. I've seen a few companies that are making look-alike stuffies and I love them. I would love to have one of each of the girls, but they tend to be a little expensive. I love the "stuffed" Pip.

  25. Oh I love Petsies mission. I have this on my wish list to buy as they are pricey but look like they are totally worth it. The dog recreations are very nicely detailed. I love that having a stuffed Petsies takes the morbidity out of petloss.
