In early November, I was contacted by Melissa Burrus, owner of New Zealand's Best, the U.S. distributor of Technyflex®, a natural joint care supplement made from 100% green-lipped mussel for dogs, cats, and horses. Although well regarded in New Zealand, Technyflex® has only been available in the United States since September. However, the product has already received rave reviews from customers and was recently an Editor's Choice by Modern Dog Magazine. Melissa asked if Ruby would like to try the canine supplement and share the results with our readers. As Ruby sometimes struggles with morning stiffness, the timing seemed right and we agreed.
Technyflex® Canine Premium Joint Supplement
Technyflex® Canine is a muscular-skeletal analgesic (pain reliever) for the treatment of sore and inflamed joints as a result of arthritis or injury. Made from the green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus) that grows only in the pure ocean waters of New Zealand, this little shellfish has a unique combination of nutrients including naturally occurring omega-3 essential fatty acids, glucosamine, chondroitin, and minerals and vitamins. Technyflex® is gluten, dairy, and additive free and proven safe and effective for long-term use.
Technyflex® is a registered analgesic that has recognized pain relief properties. Omega 3's provide anti-inflammatory pain relief for worn joints, injuries, and disorders. In addition to Omega 3's natural pain relief properties, Technyflex® is an excellent source of a variety of minerals and vitamins for overall health and wellbeing.
The Technyflex® brand invests significantly in quality processing. Green-lipped mussels are grown and harvested in registered marine farms and processed under strict guidelines to ensure the product's success and safety. Technyflex® is derived from seafood and should not be consumed if your dog has an allergy to seafood. Always consult with your veterinarian before adding any new medications especially if your dog has pre-existing conditions. In addition to the canine formula, Technyflex® is available in both a feline and equine formula.
Ruby's Results on Technyflex® with 100% Green-Lipped Mussel
Ruby has been taking Technyflex® for just over a month. The product is available in capsule or powder and dosage is determined by weight. Ruby happily takes a half a scoop in the morning and a half scoop in the evening. When she first started taking the supplement, I worried that she might experience some initial stomach upset. However, she adjusted quickly and didn't experience any significant side effects.
My two main areas of concern in regards to Ruby's comfort and mobility are stairs and cold weather. Although neither issue is extreme, I worry her symptoms will worsen over time. The stairs leading up to our second floor are steep and Ruby sometimes has trouble climbing them, pausing half way up. She has some mild separation anxiety and likes to be with us at all times - seeing her struggle to keep up is heartbreaking for us and frustrating for her. We have definitely noticed an improvement in her energy and stamina with the stairs since starting Technyflex®
We live in the Chicago area and experience our fair share of crazy, cold weather. Typically this doesn't occur until January or February, but this year winter arrived early. In the past, Ruby has experienced some mild morning stiffness during the winter months. However, I am pleased to report that we have definitely noticed an improvement and she is much more willing and eager for morning walks. She even played outside last Sunday during our first snowfall - a few inches of snow takes some effort to maneuver when your legs are only ten inches long!
We have been very pleased with Ruby's results! In addition to excellent customer service, Technyflex® comes with detailed product information and easy to follow dosage guidelines. Melissa has been a pleasure to work with and her genuine concern and love for dogs is crystal clear.
