Ruby Goes Pop For Primal

Variety is the spice of life ...

One of the fun things about Primal Pet Foods is the variety of flavors. There are six different formulas to choose from: pork, beef, chicken, lamb, duck, and turkey and sardine. Because the food comes in freeze-dried nuggets, it is also super simple to mix and match proteins.

Primal formulas are produced using human-grade ingredients and all poultry, meat, and game are anti-biotic and steroid free without added hormones. Primal also incorporates certified organic produce, minerals, and unrefined vitamins for a complete and balanced diet. In other words, it’s good stuff inside and out.

Health Update

This past Saturday Ruby had her first vet appointment since making the switch to raw. She's lost a pound, which now puts her in a healthy weight range for her size and breed.

  3. Sounds like it was well worth the switch. Ruby is looking great.
Just one question. My vet said never to give the dogs pork as it upsets their digestion, do you find any difference with the pork to the rest of the flavours?

  5. We can easily see that the move to Primal for Ruby was a great decision. She looks great and sooooo happy!!! Mom would love to try that for Ciara to see if we could her weight back to a normal range, but it seems like it might be a lot more pricey for the bigger dog. We need to check it out some more. Thanks for sharing your experience with Primal - surely some "food" for thought for us.

  25. Raw is good. We've been on raw almost from the start. The shelties started off at the breeders on kibble. My brother Owen and I were on freeze dried raw and then when we came home with our mom and dad, they put us on full raw. The shelties' fur turned from a flat, dull finish to a shiny, healthy look and feel. Amazing. We think that Ruby looks great and her weight will help with maintaining good health. You have good peeps. Hi to Pip too.

  26. Good for Ruby, she looks great. So far mine are on grain free food and doing well. Samson has so many health issues and needs the best of that kind of food, which is expensive. I haven't tried raw, but wonder if it wouldn't cost even more to feed my two dogs, who are much larger than Ruby.

  30. Oh Ruby I think you are going more Andy Warhol because I don't think Primal would make you turn colors. Well maybe I could be green with envy because you are looking so terrific.
