An Eye Opening Experience ...

Remember a few weeks ago when the waitress/housekeeper posted about my unwillingness to open my eyes during photos? Well, I've opened them temporarily. Want to know why?

Quite simply, I was mistaken for this pile of shoes. Not even nice, designer shoes, but rather old, beat up boots.

You see, the waitress/housekeeper has terrible eyesight. Combine this with her inability to hold onto to a pair of glasses (she loses them, sits on them, drops them off high buildings, out car windows, in rivers, etc.) and you have a recipe for a disaster or a beautiful and oh so fabulous cat being mistaken for shoes.

Here's the story: late Friday night, I was minding my own business, sleeping comfortably in my bed near the heat vent. All of a sudden, the waitress comes stumbling out of the bedroom - no glasses in sight (a little kitty pun). And then IT happened, she leaned over and pet these shoes!

Now, yes it was dark and late, but she actually thought these clunky, black things were me!

Well, I was shocked and humiliated and felt this case of mistaken identity must be addressed properly. And so I opened my eyes to voice my disapproval, disgust and disappointment. Take a good look: I make no promises for future appearances.

  1. I's been mistaken for a stuffed animal before, but never shoes. Dat deserves a smacky paw I thinks.

Well, I gotta say, if that's what it takes for us to see those huge gorgeous greens of yours, it may be worth you going through just a wee bit of indignation - all in the name of fandom, you understand! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  8. Oh my COD, that is so funny. Sounds like something our waitress would do. We just sit around and stare at her too. Just for the record, those boots have no resemblance to you Rosie although in the dark, maybe so. Rosie, you are quite pretty with those pretty eyes all open. You all have a great day.

  22. You have lovely eyes, and we can so relate. Our mommy is blind as a bat, we are not sure why humans use that expression because we are sure bats can see better than Mommy. Do you know she almost mistook a RABBIT for Socks???? We keeps our eyes open so we can avoid being stepped on. Very annoying to hear "Sorry I didn't see YOU" after she steps all over you. And have you seen FENRIS he is huge, How could you miss seeing HIM?????
