Hearts

Pip's mom here with a special power of the paw request. After a courageous battle with heart disease, sweet Inigo will leave us tomorrow ...his mom has posted a beautiful tribute to her sweet boy on their blog. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

On a happier note, I want to send a very special and heartfelt thank you to the Road Dogs and their talented mama.

As some of you know, she made a beautiful necklace in memory of Molly a few months ago. She donated the necklace as part of the auction to raise money for Shelby and her puppies. We worked together to surprise Tea (Molly’s mom) with this special gift.

During this process, I mentioned to her how much I loved her necklaces and that I wanted one in memory of my cat Tutu. I told her I was going to drop hints to my husband to order me one for Christmas. Well, I guess he will need to find a new gift because look what she sent me …

I am so touched by this gift. I just love it and am completely overwhelmed by her kindness and generosity. Tutu passed away in June 2009. She lived with me for 18 years and although I love all my animals, Tutu was truly my heart. I still miss her everyday.

As I read the tribute for Inigo, I was struck by how much he sounds like Tutu - the same loving nature and gentleness of spirit. Maybe when Inigo crosses the bridge tomorrow, he will find Tutu and they will be friends.

  9. When Max died my sister gave me a dog tag that she had engraved, "In memory of Max, forever in our hearts." I was upset because I forgot to take his collar off at the vet and when I remembered, I found out he was already gone. I have this heart dog tag on my keychain. Little memoirs like this are important, these friends leave forever pawprints on our hearts. We will stop by Indigo's blog and let them know we are thinking about them. Thanks for sharing.

  11. The heart is just beautiful and the story behind it makes it even more special.

We have been busy all day today and we just saw the sad news about Inigo - so sad, we had really hoped he was on the road to recovery. He was a gorgeous kitty, and the tribute to him from his family was so touching.

We wish we had known Tutu - she sounds like she was a very special kitty.

I know it is part of life, but it is so sad when a loved pet has to go to the bridge. I will never forget the day I had to make that decision for my dog…. Love the necklace. Enjoy it, as you remember your sweet cat.

  31. I'm so sorry about Inigo, it's always hard to let go of a family member. I've been really wanting to get another cat. My last kitty was sickly and I spent a fortune to keep him well. After he passed on, Shiver was lonely and would cry and cry when I came home. I wasn't ready for another cat so I got Chico to keep him company. I still miss my kitty every single day and think of him often.

That a pretty necklace. What a great memento for Tutu.
