Keeping It Real With Mr. Pip

Along the path to self-discovery, Pip has noticed a pattern in life. He often finds himself smack dab in the middle - the peacekeeper, bridge-builder, mediator, or referee. Ongoing drama between cats and dogs, people and pets (cats and dogs sometimes align in this fight), and don’t EVEN get him started on the backyard battles between the squirrels and birds.

Can’t we all just play nice and get along, Pip wonders?

Pip wears many hats, bandanas, and bowties and is comfortable in many worlds. He is a lover not a fighter, a healer not a divider.  But the thing is, Pip is tired …with his blogging, eating, and napping schedule his time and energy are limited.  And so, he is hoping (deep breath) that everyone might carry on without his help for a while.

Pip’s Tips for Keeping It Real (or how to place nice with others)
  1. Cats – a change in temperature, meal schedule, or furniture position does not a crisis make.  Accept what you can’t change, change what you can, and don’t worry about the rest.  Enough with the drama already!
  2. Dogs – the people pleasing must end.  Not everyone is going to like you and that’s OK.  Doing tricks, giving paw, listening to humans is optional. Pip learned this truth from his feline sisters, thank you sisters.  Pip doesn’t know any tricks and people STILL like him (but do they REALLY like me?)
  3. Humans – please stop asking dogs and cats to behave like humans. We are dogs and cats – furry, wild, and unpredictable.  We bark, hiss, bite, shed, scratch the couch, spit up hairballs, and have occasional accidents inside.  No offense, but you are the ones who have complicated life with your silly rules and stuff everywhere.  We are just trying to keep it real!
Multi-species homes are the wave of the future. The time for common ground is now! We may be different, but like the colors in a rainbow we are all essential and beautiful in our own way. Pip came up with this Disney-like metaphor on his own so give him a break.

  3. I'm not much for tricks either Pip. I think being loyal, loving and adorable is quite enough. All in all you have some words to woof by there and I'll be chewing on them all day.

Thanks for visiting our blog. We look like a cat blog but we have woofies too. It is just the cats really outnumber us.

  20. Pip that last tip for the humans is perfect! So many humans forget that we are animals, not furry, four-legged versions of them. It can be very frustrating when humans forget this fact.

I also wanted to say that you are incredibly handsome ;)
